About Beni (Domestic short hair) in New York

Beni is waiting for you at Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition, Inc. in United States. Beni is a gentle and sweet 2 year old boy that was rescued in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. He was found alone, seeking shelter just before a snowstorm last winter. Beni can be shy at times, but is gaining his confidence with each day! He’s loving and discovering the comforts of indoor life. While in foster, he has learned to enjoy (and ask for!) pets, treats, and comfort. Beni thrives on routine and being near people who can be mindful of making him feel safe. He is a very smart cat who will be a wonderful companion cozying up by your side, greeting you when you get home, relaxing with you while watching a movie, offering many loving head bumps, and reminding you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. He is looking for a home that he can call his own or share with another friendly cat. While in foster he lived with other cats, and he did very well! Beni can share communal spaces, cat beds, and window sills with a friend, and will sometimes retreat to a cat tree or high space to nap in quiet solitude. Toys and games were new to Beni, but with some positive reassurance (aka tasty treats!) as well as his foster roommates showing him a few things, he started leading the chase during playtime and really came out of this shell. He enjoys chasing toys that are feathery – a cat wand with attachments is a great way to bond with this charming boy. Stuffed toys and kickers are top shelf too! He will get very focused when interacting with his toys and his curious personality really comes through. Beni is definitely a very playful and loving cat. His appetite is fantastic and he’s always excited for meal time. Beni enjoys canned wet food – Weruva and BFF lines are a favorite. Sometimes he can have a little bit of a sensitive belly, but working out different proteins and offering him a few options can really help to see what can work for him. He did well on all his veterinar
