Peluche is waiting for you at Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center in Springfield, MA 01104. Peluche is a sweet, vocal, senior boy who came in with some matted fur and perked up once he recieved a groom and began to show is personality. OTHER PETS: Peluche was mellow and curious about another small, relaxed pup and would likely do well with another dog with a similar, chill personality and size. Peluch does some 'growly' vocalizing which is common for some dogs when they are excited or playing, but he did not aggress or engage in any pushy behavor. Peluche should meet any dog he would be living with prior to adoption. [Case-By-Case / (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: [First Dog] Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn. GROOMING: Peluche will need regular grooms to be sure his fur does not get matted again. Matting can become severe and cause mild to severe injuries. [Regular Grooming] KIDS: Because Peluche is an older boy who would likely do best with older, respectful kids who know how to give Peluche his space. Peluche did not show signs of resource guarding while at TJO but he would likely not be a good fit for younger children and should meet everyone he would be living with prior to adoption. [13+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Peluche has enjoyed sniffing and relaxing with people and could easily become more playful and affection once he fully decompresses in a home. Physical activity should be monitored as he continues to age to be sure the development of arthritis doesn't become painful; a good relationship with a vet will help his people monitor is health. A combination of mild, physical activity appropriate for his size and age, combined with plenty of mental enrichment such as games, puzzles, and new tricks will help meet his needs.
