Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Canela would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Canela is Looking For: A family to provide long walks and daily adventures etc. A three year old dog is at her best. Out of the crazy puppy stage but still energetic and adventurous. Canela wants to join you on your adventures out about town or on hikes and then will be ready to cuddle up and receive love. What My Foster Says About Me: Canela is a wonderful companion who walks beautifully on a loose leash and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. She’s made impressive progress with her potty training in just a few days, and has been accident free since. We’re also pretty sure she’s fluent in Spanish—but she’s already picked up “Sit” and “Down” in English too! Canela recently went through a big life transition, so she’s still discovering her playful side and what toys she loves.
