Name: Kermit Best Guess for Breed: Beagle mix Best Guess for Age: 7 years as of 03/19/2026 SEX: male Approximate Weight: 27 lbs. Gets Along With: other dogs. We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Kermit is Looking For: someone who wants a dog with quiet charm! His big, expressive eyes seem to ask for a soft place to land, and once he trusts you, he offers a steady companionship that will warm your heart. He still has that classic Beagle curiosity—his nose leads the way on walks, and every scent is a story he wants to read. But he’s not in a rush. His pace is unhurried, his tail wagging in an easy rhythm as he explores the world. Afterward, he’s perfectly content to curl up beside you, happy just to be part of the quiet moments. He’s social in that warm, understated Beagle way: friendly, polite, and happiest when he’s included. Give him a safe home and a kind heart, and he’ll bring you loyalty, warmth, and joy. What My Foster Says About Me: Kermit is a very sweet and affectionate dog who will follow you everywhere. Kermit is a good listener who knows his name. He sleeps well and has not had any accidents in the house. Don’t let his age fool you - he has a lot of energy! Heartworm informatiom: Kermit is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.
