Janie is waiting for you at Rescue Ranch in Yreka, CA 96097. Meet Janie! Small in size, big in heart — and even bigger in courage. Janie may not take up much space, but she’s one of the bravest and most loving dogs you'll ever meet. Though we don’t know much about her past, a few old scars suggest she hasn’t had the easiest journey. But Janie doesn’t let that hold her back — she greets every person with a wagging tail and a beaming smile, ready to soak up all the love she can get. She spent some time in a short-term foster home, where we learned so much about what makes Janie truly shine. Most notably? Janie is a ranch girl at heart! She thrives in open spaces where she can explore, sniff, and stay close to her people. Indoors, she was well-behaved — sleeping quietly in her crate overnight — but she prefers not to be kenneled during the day. She’s an outdoorsy, loyal companion who wants to be wherever you are. Janie is also: Great with people of all ages, including toddlers (she lovingly laid beside her foster’s 1-year-old niece) Social with other dogs A tennis ball and squeaky toy enthusiast Leash trained and knows all her basics: Sit, Stay, Down, and waiting patiently for her food Smart and food-motivated, she’s more than ready to learn anything else you’d like to teach her — and she’ll do it all with that signature Janie sparkle in her eyes.
