Not just any hot mess—a fixable hot mess, but Edna would prefer you not dwell on that. She’s focusing on her narrative. She’s diabetic and requires daily insulin injections (which she considers deeply inconvenient and possibly a personal attack). She doesn’t see very well, so if you startle her, that’s on you. Boundaries matter. She has been spayed and a few mammary masses removed - all benign so that is some good news. Edna can be a little spicy—but honestly, she’s earned it. She will let you and her dog friends know verbally when she needs some space. Yet she still demands to be held like the royalty she clearly is. Her hobbies include judging you silently, burrowing under blankets like a dramatic little burrito, and accepting affection, until you stick her with a needle. She will hate you for a few seconds - then buries her head in your neck while you apologize over and over again. Despite her sass, Edna is a champion snuggler and wants nothing more than a warm lap and a human who understands that love sometimes comes with a side of attitude.
