We estimate Newton almost five years old. He is 25 pounds, neutered, up-to-date in vaccinations. We do not know much about his past before he was picked up as a stray dog by Baltimore County shelter. He was extremely and painfully matted, not neutered, and had an amical hernia. It was necessary to shave his matting off under sedation so this was done when he was neutered and had his amical hernia repaired. In the shelter he was very scared and still had not forgotten the pain he suffered from his matted coat. His coat requires regular grooming to prevent getting matted again. He was extremely fearful of grooming but with a gentle hand he is fine now. We have been working with him in his foster home and he is getting better. He will require a family that understands his past trauma and has experience with dogs to help him fully recover. Newton would like to have a home with a yard where he can spend some time running around. Newton would not do well in apartment/Condo life. He needs to have a house with a yard. He seems to be energetic and active and a bit mouthy so he would not do well with young children. Newton is an active, happy, playful dog that gets along well with his new foster brothers. He is an amazingly affectionate dog. He seems to want to and will climb into your lap to be close to you. He like to be in touch with his people either on the lap, next to and touching on the couch, and very close in bed at night with his warm body. We had an an
