Dante is waiting for you at Palomacy Pigeon & Dove Adoptions in San Francisco, CA 94104. Dante is a very striking bird, but beauty comes at a cost. His dramatic feathers around his head is a genetic trait that humans selectively bred for nothing but beauty purposes. It doesn't serve the bird in any way, but actually makes it so that the bird cannot see. A prey animal that cannot see is a doomed animal. To make matters worse, somehow Dante was out wandering the streets. It's bad enough being a domestic pigeon and unable to survive out in the wild, but to not be able to navigate properly, see where he's flying and walking, or keep an eye on his back for predators? We're shocked that he was found—and found alive. Just in time, too, for poor Dante was severely emaciated when he was found! We're so grateful that he is now with us (and we're keeping his feathers trimmed so he can see!) but we're really hoping that he will go to a forever home where he will be pampered and loved like he deserves.Please apply to adopt [Lien externe masqué]
