About A Boy Named Sue (Domestic Medium Hair) in Chestertown, MD 21620

A Boy Named Sue is waiting for you at Humane Society of Kent County Maryland Inc. in Chestertown, MD 21620. Meet A Bot Named Sue — a 2‑year‑old long‑haired tuxedo who came to us as an owner surrender when his family could no longer care for him. From the moment he arrived, Sue has been nothing but perfect. He’s cuddly, playful, affectionate, and always ready to curl up with you or chase a toy with enthusiasm.Sue does have FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus).FeLV is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system. It is not contagious to humans, dogs, or other species, but it can be transmitted to other cats through close contact such as grooming, sharing food/water bowls, or mutual play that involves saliva. Because of this, Sue must be adopted into a FeLV‑only home or as the only cat.Sue also has a condition called pillow foot (feline plasma cell pododermatitis).Pillow foot causes a cat’s paw pads to become swollen, soft, and sometimes tender — almost like little “pillows.” It is typically managed with medication, regular monitoring, and keeping the paws clean and comfortable. Many cats live normal, happy lives with this condition, though flare‑ups can occur and may require treatment.Despite these medical challenges, Sue’s spirit is bright and loving. He is gentle, social, and full of personality. He doesn’t let anything slow him down, and he’s more than ready to find a home that will cherish him exactly as he is.If you’re looking for a cat who will give you endless affection and playful companionship, A Bot Named Sue is waiting to meet you.A Boy Named Sue's adoption fee is $0, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and fost
