Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. CARMILLA and her siblings (ALLUCARD - ATREUS - ISAAC) were turned into the shelter. We have no real idea what their life was before coming to the rescue. She was hissy and dirty! So CARMILLA and ISAAC were adopted together back in 2021 as small kittens. To their dismay, they were returned to us in 2026. It was no fault of their own. The woman decided she was moving back home and couldn't take her cats. CARMILLA is a beautiful calico with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines. She absolutely loves pets and rubs, happily accepts being picked up, and enjoys spending time with her people. Sadly, CARMILLA was recently returned to our care after five years in a home through no fault of her own. Her adopter moved out of state and was unable to take her cats along. This unexpected change has left CARMILLA feeling a little sad and confused, but she's ready to find a forever family that will love her for the rest of her life.
