About Penny (Egyptian mau) in Marion

Penny is waiting for you at Nile Valley Egyptian Foundation Inc. in Marion, CT 06444. Penny is a stunning long-haired calico with a unique heritage—she is part Persian and part Egyptian Mau, a rare and beautiful combination often referred to as a Shirizi Mau.Penny is very loving and gentle. She truly enjoys affection and will happily soak up pets and attention, but she prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and is not a fan of being picked up too often. She would do best with someone who respects her boundaries and appreciates a cat who shows love in her own graceful way. With her soft fur, expressive eyes, and sweet temperament, Penny is the kind of cat who bonds deeply and becomes a devoted companion. She’s perfect for a calm home looking for a loving, affectionate cat who enjoys closeness—just on her terms. If you’re looking for a special cat with beauty, warmth, and a gentle soul, Penny may be your perfect match. All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Potential adopters for our Persian cats need to have prior Persian cat experience as they need to be well cared for. Grooming, dental, and veterinarian exams are done once a year, and a good quality brand of cat food such as Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, or Purina Pro plan is the upper tier level with a black label. We are a rescue and get what we get in terms of cats in need of a home. In no way do we work with breeders or buy the cats from the Friday markets so we can put them up for adoption as a rescue.[Lien externe masqué] Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world.
