Bailey is waiting for you at Noah Project in Muskegon, MI 49444. This post has been a long time coming, so sorry ahead of time for the lenghtly post. Bailey came to us 3 months ago scared out of his mind (although we knew he exsisted about 2 years ago but couldn't be caught! He was being taken care of by a cat lover and we knew he was getting the best care he could while being outside.) He had been living outside his entire life (we think to be 3 years) and had never been touched by a human. He came to us in a trap and we honestly figured he would be an amazing barn cat since he survived out in the "wild" for so long and was in very good condition weight and health wise.We tried to give him as much space as we could while keeping us safe while he was settling in. We tried sneaking in some pets here and there, and although he didn't hate us for it, he wasn't exactly happy either. When we took Bailey to get fixed, we weren't even sure if he was a boy or a girl because he literally freaked out and turned into a feral cat everytime we put more than 1 hand on him at a time. Very begruginly, when we took him to get fixed, we asked them to "ear tip him" just in case he would need to be come a barn cat and got caught up in a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) situation. While we hoped that he would turn around and start to trust people, he wasn't giving us the traditional signs we see with these types of kitties.After being neutered (suprise, it's a boy!) Bailey went back to being ok with being touched but by only one or 2 people and for a very short time. After some time went by, one of our cat employees went to pet his head like she did everyday he had been there and she thought she heard a purr and it almost looked like he was leaning in, but figured it was the kitty beside him that he was excited to meet, not her.
