His favorite pastime is playing with toys and the other cats in his house. He is often busy, busy, busy having fun! He also has a loving side to his personality. He welcomes attention and petting from staff, volunteers –and anyone that visits his house. He would do well in an active home with lots of love, attention, and a few toys he can roll around. Come meet Maxwell and see for yourself what a great kitty he is! Maxwell is FIV positive. FIV in cats is similar to HIV (the human immunodeficiency virus) and causes a feline disease that is similar to AIDS in humans. Although FIV is similar to AIDS in humans it is a highly species-specific virus that infects only felines. While there is currently no definitive cure for FIV in felines, with proper care there is no reason a cat infected with FIV cannot live a very normal, healthy life for years -- if managed appropriately.
