Mia is waiting for you at Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter in Santa Cruz, CA 95062. Meet Mia, the senior gray and white kitty! Mia came to the Shelter after her previous guardian moved and was unable to take her with them. Mia can be cautious with new people but warms up and is a sweetie. Mia's right rear leg was amputated when she was a year old due to a fracture. She must be housed indoors only for the rest of her life as she is not able to escape dangers such as cars, dogs, and coyotes, as well as a cat with all 4 legs. Mia has lived with another feline who she coexisted with as well as children ages 1 and 5 years old. Mia reliably used the litterbox in her previous home. Her favorite things are playing with toys and being petted. Mia's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Silver Whisker's Society, a fund aiming to help get often overlooked senior cats out of the shelter!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
