Minka* is waiting for you at Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter in Santa Cruz, CA 95062. Meet Minka, the gray kitten. Minka originally came into the Shelter as a stray and has been growing up in a foster home. Her foster reports that she has enjoyed playing well with toys and her foster family as well as snuggling on a purring lap afterwards. She has wamred up to the two adult residents in the home but gets nervous with the sight of a stranger. When Minka is feeling unsure, she will let you know about it with some loud vocalizations. A home that is cat savvy (and maybe with a calm, steady kitty friend) will likely help set the stage for a smooth transition for Minka. Minka is looking for an indoor only home to keep her (and our local wildlife) safe. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
