Sarah* is waiting for you at Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter in Santa Cruz, CA 95062. Meet Sarah, the pastel calico kitty! Sarah arrived to the Shelter as a stray so we don’t know much about her life before. A good Samaritan brought her to the Shelter after she had been dumped in a carrier with some kittens. Although the situation was a bit stressful, Sarah was affectionate – meowing, purring and seeking pets – from the moment she arrived at the Shelter. Our clinic team observed that Sarah arrived to the Shelter with an injury to her right eye. She has completed a course of antibiotics and has been continuing to improve with time. We anticipate that she will have a permanent scan at the site of her injury as well as some changes to her eye associated with the healing process. She is comfortable and her vision is good in this eye. The clinic can chat more with any potential adopter if they have questions. Sarah is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
