He is very vocal and will certainly tell you when he wants attention and when perhaps he has had enough. His affection is given on his terms after all but fortunately he is very generous with it! Barnaby is great with other kitties though the foster is not sure about dogs. We also recommend that Barnaby not go to a family with small children as he can be particular about how he is pet and held and simply needs a family who will respect his boundaries in that way.
