What he wants is a good ball, a stuffed toy to defeat, a friendly human or two, and a house that runs at a civilized pace. Is that so much to ask? Ben is reportedly house trained, knows sit, stay, jump, and turn, and is friendly with men, women, and children. On a recent Doggy Day Out he was gentle, sweet, good in the care and patient with everyone in the household — and got along beautifully with the resident dog, though he would ultimately prefer a home where he is the one and only. He has a certain standard to maintain. If you have another dog, a meet and greet is highly recommended.The volunteer summed him up perfectly: gentle, people-loving, and ideal for a couple in a slow house. Ben is not looking for a frat house. He is looking for his people — the kind who appreciate a dog with manners, a little wisdom, and an absolutely ruthless approach to stuffed animals. He would also very much like a walk once or twice a day, thank you. He is distinguished, not sedentary. Ben has been patient long enough.
