Zane came to Canine Castaways after being surrendered alongside his friend Kirby when their owner felt they no longer had time for them. While Kirby greets the world like a long-lost friend, Zane takes a different approach. Zane prefers to watch first and decide later. New people, new dogs, and new situations can make him a little nervous. He isn't the type to rush into a friendship. Instead, he likes to take his time, assess the situation, and make sure everything feels safe before letting his guard down. But once Zane decides you're a friend, you'll start to see his playful side emerge. The cautious observer becomes a fun-loving companion who enjoys playtime and spending time with the people he trusts. Because Zane is still settling into rescue and has not yet had the opportunity to move into a foster home, were continuing to learn more about his personality every day.
