Understandably cautious when he first arrived, Ronnie has spent the last week and a half slowly learning that people can be kind. His biggest breakthrough came when he finally climbed onto the couch for a snuggle—and now he can't seem to get enough cuddle time! Watching this shy boy blossom has been incredibly rewarding, and his future family will have the privilege of seeing that transformation continue. He enjoys affection, is motivated by food and love, gets along well with other dogs and cats, and is a quiet houseguest who does well when left home with his canine companions. Ronnie is still building confidence in several areas. He's making progress with house training and is currently learning to use pee pads while also working on becoming comfortable going outside through the sliding glass door. Leashes are still unfamiliar and a bit scary, so his future family will need to continue introducing him to walks at his own pace. He doesn't seem interested in toys just yet, but he has discovered that moving shoes around the house is quite entertaining—and flip-flops should probably be kept out of reach! As his confidence grows, his foster plans to begin teaching him basic commands. Ronnie's ideal home is one with patient adopters who understand that trust takes time and won't rush him.
