Found wandering a remote field — thin, alone, and in need of help — she was brought to safety after a concerned neighbor called Animal Control. Though her past was clearly a difficult one, Biscuit has proven herself to be incredibly brave as she navigates a loving home environment, rising to that challenge beautifully. She has made remarkable progress. She is fully housebroken, leash trained, and comfortable in a crate or pen. She happily joins her foster family on walks and loves meandering through the backyard, soaking up the sunshine, snoozing on her bed, and hanging out with her dog friends. She doesn’t bark, and will gladly accept treats of any kind! Biscuit is shy with new people, but has come a long way. She is comfortable being leashed and petted by her foster mom and has been gradually getting closer to her foster dad. She is simply a gentle, timid soul who is learning that people can be kind. Biscuit is a dream with other animals. She gets along wonderfully with all five of her canine foster siblings — big, small, male, and female — and couldn't care less about the cats. She truly thrives in the company of other dogs and lights up when she gets to play with her furry friends. Biscuit's ideal home is a calm, patient one with at least one or two other dogs to keep her company. She will flourish with an adopter who understands dogs with past trauma and appreciates that trust is built slowly and on the dog's own terms. She’d love a securely fenced backyard (at least 5 feet) where she can lounge, explore, and play. Loud noises, cars, and strangers are still scary for her, so a quieter environment would help her continue to thrive — though she would absolutely love an active family who brings her along for runs and walks.
