Samantha is a 3.5-year-old, perfectly medium-sized girl at 43 lbs—and a true “dog’s dog.” She absolutely thrives in the company of other canines, lighting up with joy and playfulness whenever she has furry friends by her side. Athletic, quirky, and full of personality that shines brightly once she's comfortable, Samantha is the kind of pup who loves to leap and bound around with excitement, rain or shine. A well-mannered young lady, she’s house-trained, crate-trained, has great recall, and listens well—all the makings of an all-around wonderful companion! Unfortunately Samantha's journey to this point hasn’t been easy. We believe Samantha spent her early life on the streets of Texas with her sister, doing whatever she could to survive. Life like that leaves its mark, and when she first came to us in 2024, she was understandably scared—trembling, avoidant, and unsure if she could trust the humans around her. Simple things, like being hooked up to a leash or recieving gentle attention from our staff felt overwhelming.But with time, consistency, and care, Samantha has slowly begun to rewrite her story.After nearly a year in our care and now the safety and comfort of a foster home, she is blossoming into the happy, curious dog she was always meant to be.There is something incredibly special about watching a dog who once only knew fear begin to approach with a wagging tail, eager for connection and affection. Samantha is learning that the world can be kind—and that people can be, too. Now, she’s ready for her next chapter: a forever home where she can continue to grow, feel safe, and be loved.
