Sheriff is waiting for you at Dog Star Rescue in Canton, CT 06019. Some puppies know how to be photogenic. Meet handsome Sheriff, a 7-month-old pup, weighing about 39 pounds. With those distinctive ears, you can tell he is a shepherd mix and will probably be in the large size range, over 60 pounds, when fully grown. His gorgeous fur is black, tan and white. Note the beautiful symmetrical facial markings. Plus, he has the cutest stump tail. Such a striking looking pup!Shepherds are known for their intelligence and sense of loyalty. They tend to be athletic and active, always liking to do something, so they will need ample daily exercise. Sheriff will undoubtedly have several of these traits as he grows into his personality. Sheriff gets along well with other dogs, adults, and kids. It is not known if he has met a cat. He is sweet and friendly. He is an energetic pup who loves making friends with other dogs and people. He is working hard on his house, crate, and leash training. He, like most pups will be a quick learner once routines are established. Daily short walks (under thirty minutes) will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. Please note: He may not be a running companion until after age one when his growth plate closes.Sheriff would also appreciate free time in the back yard to burn off puppy energy. Keeping his mind active with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation will prevent boredom. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability.The adoption fee for Sheriff is $500.
