Benny Boy is a playful, large boy who loves toys and loves people. Knows sit, responsive on the leash, enjoys a great roll in the grass. A chill friendly guy who would love a home where he's treated like one of the family. He does not do well with cats, so he'll need a home without fabulous felines. He has been at OCAS for a very long time. He is beloved and he's an amazing dog that deserves a second chance!Insights from Benny's friends and fosters:`We’ve been fostering Benny for the past two months, and it’s been wonderful to see how much progress he’s made. Before coming to us, Benny spent a couple of months in the shelter, so he arrived with some resource guarding behaviors. With structure and consistency, he’s been doing really well and continues to improve. We have another dog in the home, and the two of them have learned to coexist nicely. We feed them separately, but they’re able to enjoy treats together without any issues. They also play really well and absolutely love a good game of tug-of-war (which Benny usually wins—he’s a big boy!). Benny enjoys going for walks, but if he had to choose, he’d much rather be a couch potato and relax with his people.``Benny Boy came over for a sleepover and he was a very good boy. He was respectful in the home. No jumping, counter surfing or trying to take food. I actually ate near him several times and he just laid next to me without even begging. He can be a little particular about treats, preferring chicken and other meat treats. He can hold a sit and be patient. We took him on several walks. He is quite strong and does pull at times, but after the first walk he did start to calm down and pull less. He is kinda funny when riding in the car.
