Kasey (aka Aussie) is a beautiful senior girl who finds herself in a heartbreaking situation through no fault of her own. She was a late husband’s beloved dog and a constant source of loyalty and love. After a sudden change in family circumstances, she was tragically abandoned at a park and brought to the local shelter. The shelter environment is incredibly overwhelming for her, and this sweet senior is currently very quiet, subdued, and shutting down. She is also being treated for a minor case of conjunctivitis (pink eye) and needs a quiet, comfortable space to heal and rest.Aussie desperately deserves to spend her golden years in the comfort and peace she once knew. Her previous family wants everyone to know just how incredible, cooperative, and loving she truly is. She is an incredibly sweet, loyal companion who has been a cherished family dog and is known to be wonderful with children. Aussie is highly cooperative and polite. She knows how to sit and wait patiently when it’s time to be fed, and she shows absolutely no food aggression.Aussie is also housebroken and she knows when it’s time to go outside - she will sit beautifully and cooperate while you put her collar or harness on. She is a wonderful house companion when allowed to roam, respecting boundaries completely (like staying out of the kitchen!). Aussie will need slow, proper introductions to any other animals but she has previously lived peacefully with cats.Aussie is looking for a loving foster or forever home where she can decompress, stretch her legs, and receive the affection she craves.
