She has a happy, loving personality and thrives on companionship and affection. Lucy is an energetic, scent-driven dog who would do best with an active owner who enjoys spending time outdoors and is committed to ongoing training and enrichment. She knows basic commands like “sit,” but can be independent-minded and easily distracted by interesting smells, making recall and impulse control areas where she still needs work. She would benefit greatly from someone experienced with hounds or similarly scent-driven breeds who understands that patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement go a long way. She has plenty of enthusiasm and curiosity. Because she can potentially get into mischief if she’s bored, she does best with structure, exercise, and mental stimulation. Lucy has so many wonderful qualities! She is incredibly loving, eager to be with people, and has all the makings of a wonderful companion in a home that has the time and patience to invest in her.
