Special Considerations: Sweet Poppy Leigh came to us from a very rough situation where she was extremely under-socialized. She is waiting patiently for an extra special adopter who will truly give her the adequate time and patience to come out of her shell and shine! Poppy Leigh is skittish and timid when first meeting people and because of this, she will need more of a chance than the typical one or several "meet and greets" allow. In her foster home, it took Poppy Leigh around 4-6 weeks to feel comfortable enough to let her guard down and her adorable personality to emerge - and trust us, she was worth the wait! Poppy Leigh is just asking for a chance - she needs calm, patience, extra kindness, and extra time for her to learn that she is safe and loved. They are affectionate with their people but can be wary of strangers but warm up quickly. They are intelligent and trainable, though they may be a little stubborn at times, but they keep it interesting! They are also known to be vocal and love to “chit chat”! What to Love about PoppyLeigh: PoppyLeigh is a happy, playful, energetic puppy who loves to explore and be near her humans. She is almost fully potty trained, uses pee pads, and is crate trained — she even runs into her crate for treats and sleeps quietly through the night.
