About Mayah (Shepherd) in Hudson

Mayah is waiting for you at Hudson Paws Dog Rescue in Hudson, NY 12534. I’m Mayah! I am a 45-pound, 2-year old Shepherd mix. I am a gorgeous and quiet young lady - very shy with new things due to my recent life change. I just arrived at Hudson Paws. Mayah is a beautiful 2-year-old Shepherd mix weighing about 50 pounds, with soulful eyes and a quiet, gentle presence. She’s a bit of a sensitive soul who is still adjusting to some recent life changes, and new people or environments can make her feel shy at first. But beneath that initial hesitation is a dog with a huge heart and so much love to give. Mayah came to Hudson Paws recently from a shelter in Alabama where she had been for quite a while and is slowly settling into rescue life. Mayah enjoys the simple things — spending time outdoors exploring, playing in a yard, and then settling in for some quiet cuddle time on the couch. She has an independent spirit but also deeply values connection, forming strong bonds with the people she trusts. Once she feels safe, she becomes a loving, loyal companion who will stay close by your side. She shares a special bond with her brother Marley, and the two truly enjoy each other’s company. While they would love to find a home together, Mayah will also do just fine on her own with the right support and environment.Mayah would thrive in a calm, steady home — ideally with a fenced yard — where she can take her time building confidence and trust. A patient adopter who understands shy dogs and is willing to go at her pace will be rewarded with a deeply devoted and affectionate best friend. If you’re looking for a gentle, soulful companion to grow with, Mayah is ready to find her person.Shepherds are intelligent, loyal, and hardworking dogs known for their strong bonds with their people. They’re quick learners who thrive on mental stimulation and consistent guidance. Naturally protective and attentive, Shepherds love to have a purpose — whether it’s playing, training, or simply being
