This handsome Miniature Poodle is gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s close to his favorite people. Whether he’s curled up in your lap for an evening of cuddles or following you from room to room, Theo simply loves being part of the family. While Theo is wonderful with everyone he’s met in his foster home, he can be a little shy when meeting new people and may greet strangers with a few barks at first. Give him a little patience and kindness, and you’ll quickly earn his trust and see his sweet personality shine. Theo is a calm, easygoing companion who doesn’t bark much, except for an enthusiastic welcome when you come home. He enjoys spending time outdoors and is beginning to learn leash walking. Like many dogs, he gets excited when he sees other dogs and may bark, he’ll benefit from continued positive reinforcement. Around the house, he’s content to relax, cuddle, and spend time with his humans. While he enjoys the company of other friendly dogs, he often seems to prefer playing and bonding with his people. He is mostly potty trained and does very well on a routine. If left alone for longer periods, he’ll reliably use a potty pad if one is available. Theo is also learning that his crate is a safe place. He rides quietly in a crate during car trips and willingly goes inside, and his foster family is continuing to build his confidence with crate training at home. Theo likes children, though he hasn’t been around toddlers. He would be perfectly happy as an only dog and doesn’t require a canine companion to thrive. Because he doesn’t require a fenced yard, he’d do well in a variety of living situations, including an apartment or condo, with an adopter who is excited to continue his leash training.
