Tucker is waiting for you at Mountainair Animal Control Shelter in Mountainair, NM 87036. Hi friends, my name is Tucker!I have had quite the story. You see, I originally came into the shelter back in 2022 as a tiny puppy covered in ticks. The ACO here said it was the worst case she'd ever seen. I was adopted out and got nice and healthy. (Now I am a little too chunky.) Dr. Lloyd with JoyLoy Vet says I need to lose 23lbs. The volunteers here have me on a strict diet and add lots of bone broth to my meals. Something about the liquid will make me feel fuller????? Hmmmph. Anyway, I have lost some weight, but the scale is NOT my friend so I don't like to get up there.Ok, back to me... so you know I am on a weight loss journey... I also should tell you I have some stranger danger. I am very sweet and polite once I know you are not going to be mean to me, but I do need a proper introduction to new people.My tail is a little shorter than usual. I had an unfortunate accident when I was younger and needed a partial tail amputation. Don't worry, I can still wag it really, really fast!The volunteers think I am part Dalmation and part American Pit Bull Terrier, but only a DNA test can say for sure! We have Embark DNA Breed Tests here at the shelter so you can buy one when you come to adopt me! (Hopefully soon!)
