She is bigger than the usual dogs we rescue but she deserved a chance at life and her time was up in Texas. She spent most of her time living in an outside kennel, so living inside is new to her. She does alert bark to people she doesn't know, and needs a bit of time to become comfortable with new people, but she is a great dog who just needs a chance! What the caretakers have to say about Sapphire: Sapphire is an elegant dog with a great independent personality. Despite her nature of being cautious and timid with unknown people, she is friendly and really enjoys spending time the the people she knows. She is leash trained and likes walks but needs encouragement and reassurance if the weather isn't nice. Sapphire gets along with other dogs and often spends time outside with her canine friends. She is an energetic dog, but she also likes to have her rest time. Some additional training is recommended to help her adjust to a new environment.
