After they moved into assisted living, Winnie ended up with a relative who neglected and abused her. She suffered from fleas, demodex, mammary tumors, and physical abuse before the cruelty was discovered and Winnie was finally brought to safety through rescue. Because of her past, Winnie can still be fearful of sudden movements, especially around her head, and may cry out when startled. But underneath that fear is an incredibly loving little dog who wants nothing more than kindness and safety. She loves gentle affection, giving tiny kisses, and quietly sitting near her people. Winnie is a calm, sweet soul looking for a patient home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and protected for the rest of her life. She deserves a home where her future will be filled with safety, compassion, and love.
