A vibrant approximately two-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently living in Los Angeles, CA, whose boundless energy is perfectly matched by her big heart and beautiful brown brindle coat with white accents. Blu’s story began in the most unexpected way, she followed a kind soul home from a grocery store and never looked back. Since then, she’s been spayed, vaccinated, and doted on with loving care. Living alongside two senior pups and a couple of confident cats, Blu has shown gentle patience and a genuine eagerness to belong. But it’s clear she’s ready for more, a space to stretch her legs, a routine to call her own, and a family ready to match her curiosity with companionship. At 65 pounds, Blu is a large pup with a personality even bigger! She’s affectionate, incredibly smart, and motivated to please. Her favorite pastimes? Fetch with her beloved soft frisbee, epic tug-o-war matches, chewing on yak cheese, and zooming around the yard like a joyful whirlwind! She also enjoys a bit of enrichment through supervised shredding. She loves tearing up soft toys (like her Tearable monster toy!) and has discovered the fun of tugging on cardboard strips offered to her during training. It’s been a creative way to channel her natural need to rip and chew, and she hasn’t chewed on anything off-limits in months. Blu knows an impressive list of commands including sit, wait, down, up, leave it, come, and more! She responds well to structure and loves training, especially when it comes with treats and praise. Though she’s still working through her sensitivity to passing cars and men in baseball caps, she’s made steady progress with positive reinforcement. Blu is still a young dog, she's energetic and can get excitable.
