Dr. Crook is very pleased with the progress he has made so far. We will keep doing what we are doing to boost his calories to help him put on 10# of body weight with good quality food. And we take walks primarily either early in the morning or early in the evening to limit sun exposure since that is a huge component of this type of skin issue. Bandit was on a chain with no shade for years. That made what might have been a minor issue into one of greater concern. But our team will make sure that does not happen ever again. How on earth Bandit could be housebroken I cannot tell you. But he is. He loves the company of other dogs and can recognize another Collie from a great distance. My stable pack of five has accepted him completely (four Collies and one Sheltie for comic relief). Leash walking was completely new to him but we are doing much better with a Joyride harness and we can also buckle him safely into a seatbelt for trips to the vet or maybe there is a pup-cup in his future.
