Montana is waiting for you at Rockwall Animal Adoption Center in Rockwall, TX 75087. Meet Montana — a 2-year-old Shepherd mix weighing 56 lbs who is beginning his journey toward healing and a better life. Montana was surrendered when his previous owners were unable to properly care for him. At intake, he had a large laceration around his neck caused by a collar that had been too tight for far too long. He is currently receiving treatment and is already on the road to recovery — both physically and emotionally. Despite everything he's been through, Montana is a sweet soul who simply hasn't had the chance to learn what being a dog is all about. As he continues to decompress and gain confidence, we will update his bio with more details about his personality. For now, he is walking decently on a leash and will need a patient, loving family committed to helping him heal and discover the good life he deserves. Montana is neutered, microchipped, current on his rabies vaccine, and boosters are up to date. He is heartworm positive, but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, his treatment is sponsored so he can get back to living a healthy life as soon as possible. Due to his condition at intake, we have not paired Montana with other dogs yet. If you have dogs in the home, a meet and greet will be required prior to adoption to ensure a good match.
