Flora is waiting for you at San Jose Animal Care Center in San Jose, CA 95111. 04/29/26 18:19Medical update - Flora had a multi-drug resistant infection at her paws, but with special targeted antibiotics and a a short course of steroids, her paw infections (pododermatitis) is resolving well, and the lymph node swelling is going down! She **is** suspected to have chronic skin allergies and the infections may have been related to the underlying allergies. Flora is on a hypoallergenic diet and will need close monitoring of her skin with an adopter or rescues primary care vet to make sure her paw infections do not recur.04/09/26I present to you, the BEAUTIFUL, the AMAZING, the WONDERFUL: FLORA!Flora came to the shelter back in December and you would not believe the dog she is today. When she first came in she was extremely fearful and was experiencing a lot of kennel stress. Now she sits patiently in her kennel waiting for her new family to come and take her home. Flora's ideal home is with people who will love her just as much as she will love them and a family that will give her the time to get comfortable with the new environment.This super sweet girl has recently been found to have pododermatitis (inflammation of the paws/feet) and enlarged regional lymph nodes. She will need on-going management at this time for the paw inflammation and a follow up with your vet for the lymph nodes. She got her latest check up for both on 4/8. Flora is not letting these findings keep her down though, and she still enjoys her daily walks. With some special attention, love and patience she has blossomed! She walks nicely for her handlers and asks for pets by placing her head into your lap. Since she is a sensitive gal, she tends to come off defensive when meeting other dogs, especially in confined space
