Teeko is waiting for you at San Jose Animal Care Center in San Jose, CA 95111. **Urgent Rescue Plea**`Teeko` 4 year old male intact papillon/terrier mixA1410107Intake: 6/28/26Due out: 7/5/26This sweet, friendly dog is looking for a rescue partner to help address a few manageable medical needs while giving him the comfort he deserves.On initial examination, he was bright, alert, and happy with a lean ideal body condition. He has **moderate to severe bilateral medial patellar luxation (approximately grade 3/4 in both knees)**, resulting in a slightly stiff gait in the hind limbs. He is currently walking on all four legs without lameness and is comfortable on **gabapentin**, but he will benefit from a long-term pain management plan and evaluation by a primary care veterinarian or orthopedic specialist to discuss ongoing medical management and whether surgical intervention may be appropriate.He also has **moderate dental disease (suspected grade 2–3/4 periodontal disease)** and would benefit from a **COHAT (professional dental cleaning with full-mouth dental radiographs)** once he is settled into rescue.Additionally, he had a **small, painful puncture wound with surrounding bruising on the left flank**, suspicious for a bite wound or other penetrating injury. He has been started on **Clavamox** and should continue monitoring to ensure the wound heals without developing an abscess.Despite these findings, he remains affectionate, ambulatory, and in good spirits. He would thrive in a rescue that can provide routine veterinary follow-up, complete his medications, address his dental disease, and develop a long-term plan to keep his arthritic knees comfortable.
