Daisey is waiting for you at Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter in Santa Cruz, CA 95062. Meet Daisey, adolescent mixed breed. Daisey came to the Shelter after being hit by a car and not receiving medical treatment. Our animal control team worked to bring Daisey to safety while the clinic and animal care team provided her a safe, clean place to recover and get the medical treatment she needed. Daisey has been in our care for a little over a month and has won over the hearts of staff and volunteers. She recently spent a week in a foster home where we learned that she:-loves to sleep in bed with her people (although she may hog the bed)-appears to be house trained-coexists nicely with other dogs and cats (although she doesn't love to share her food with them, understandably)!-looks REALLY cute in onesie style pajamasDaisey back at the Shelter and ready to meet her adoptive family. Could that be you?Daisey is available for preadoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
