Animal Profile: Lily is an estimated 2.5 year old female lab pit mix that was adopted from the rescue as a puppy, but is being returned through no fault of her own after almost two years. Lily is a goofy, loving girl with a big personality and plenty of charm. She loves to carry blankets and stuffies around. She's smart, eager to learn, and has made wonderful progress with her training. Lily would thrive in a home with adults or older, dog-savvy children who can respect her boundaries and appreciate her unique personality. She is a wonderful companion who has so much love to give to the right family. Foster Update: Lily is a happy, affectionate girl who is settling beautifully into home life and just needs a bit of confidence building as she continues to explore the world. She loves toys—especially tug games—and has a playful, silly side that comes out when she finds something fun to carry or wrestle with. Once she’s had her zooms and kisses in, she’s all about the couch snuggles and will happily settle in for movie time, complete with plenty of face licks before she drifts off for a nap, even with other dogs resting nearby on their own beds. She sleeps through the night, is crate trained, and goes in willingly with just a command and a point. She’s also shown no signs of barrier or fence frustration when placed alongside other dogs, and coexists calmly in shared spaces. Lily is still a little unsure navigating hardwood floors on leash, but off-leash she moves through the home confidently and comfortably. Overall, she’s been a joy to foster—sweet, social, and ready to keep building confidence as she settles into her forever home.
