Animal Profile: Ramen is an estimated 6-year-old, 15 lb neutered male miniature poodle who was a hot mess when he was pulled from the Carson shelter. He was at risk due to overcrowding at the shelter but assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. Foster Update: Ramen may be small in stature, but he's packed full of personality, brains, and just the right amount of spice. This cool cup of noodles is an active, intelligent dog who thrives when he has a job to do and someone to learn alongside. Since entering foster care, Ramen has been an impressive student. He's crate trained, potty trained, and walks nicely on leash. More than anything, he loves to learn. His foster family and trainer have discovered that Ramen is incredibly smart and eager to work, picking up new skills and commands with remarkable speed. He was recently introduced to odor detection work, and his trainer described him as a natural. Give Ramen a challenge, and he'll happily rise to meet it. Ramen is fully e-collar trained through Nirvana K9 Training, giving him a strong foundation in structure, communication, and reliable off-leash responsiveness with the right handler. Ramen isn't looking for a life spent lounging on the couch. While he enjoys spending time with his people, he tends to show affection through play, training, and shared activities rather than being a traditional lap dog. He's happiest when his mind is engaged and his day includes opportunities to learn, explore, and work alongside his person. Like many thoughtful dogs, Ramen can take a little time to warm up to new people. He tends to be more trusting of women initially, but with patience and positive interactions, he can build strong relationships with those he comes to know.
