About Sue Ii (Beagle) in Tampa

Sue Ii is waiting for you at Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue, Inc. in Tampa, FL 33688. Sue had a tough prior life in a hoarding situation where she was likely bred and did not get training or much human interaction, despite her past, she is making big improvements in her foster home. She makes friends with other dogs easily, she gets along with her foster's two beagles and is happiest when she is around them. She is friendly at the dog park to everyone and likes to pace around and sniff. She still cowers and runs away if you try to pick her up or pet her, but if you pet her in crate or can catch her to hold her, she loves the attention. She will run in circles around a table or couch often, so her nick name is "Run Around Sue", she is faster than she looks and energetic until nap time. She is calm in the car, but needs a bathroom break before a car ride. She zig zags on a leash because she is excited to sniff, but she does not pull much and she loves walks. She tries to crawl out of the tub at bath time and the vet clips her nails. She is not aggressive, she is just not used to being a pet and she trusts other dogs more than people. She is crate trained and prefers her crate to a dog bed in the living room, although she is getting brave and laying down close to her foster human more often. We are still working on commands, but she has made great improvements on barking to go out or come in, she barks for a bathroom break when crated, she is good about going outside if you open the door, and she will go in her crate easily if you put a treat in there. She eats in her crate, too. She likes squeaky toys and nylabones. She eats dry kibble, but has had a few bites of wet food with her medicine from her spay. She has not had accidents in the house for a while but she has also been supervised and given frequent breaks to go outside while she is learning. She sometimes wets her crate blanket and never barked, but she is doing this less now that she is spayed. She does not bark of
