Come meet Colton and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (05/03) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Highway Alexandria, VA 22305)! Name: Colton Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/Malinois Mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of April 2025 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 49 lbs Gets Along With: Colton does well with other dogs! We have tested him with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Colton could live with a cat, he/she has not done so to our knowledge. We haven't seen him with kids and are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Colton wants nothing more than to trot through the world with all the confidence of a well-loved dog. He is eager to burn off all that awesome young-dog energy with romps in parks, long sniffy walks, and all the adventures his humans can dream up. Thing is, he hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and right now he's shy. He needs extra loving and patient adopters who will help him explore at his pace, and a welcoming resident dog who will show him how to dog. Most of all, though, he wants to know where he belongs - and to be safe and loved under his own roof.
