Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Spruce was rescued from a hoarding situation in South Carolina. She has not been well socialized with new people and has lived her whole life with other dogs. New noises, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety. She will need a patient adopter who can give her time to come out of her shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place. Spruce is Looking For: Spruce’s ideal home is calm, patient, and predictable. She thrives with gentle people who understand that confidence grows slowly and that love doesn’t need to be loud to be real. She would do best in a home without small children, and she will enjoy the company of another kind, steady dog who can show her the ropes. Spruce needs someone who will let her be herself, celebrate her small victories, and offer reassurance when the world feels big. Corgis were bred to be herding dogs and Spruce will want the chance to be outdoors and stretch her little legs. Dog parks visits and doggie daycare will offer her both exercise and socialization with other canines, just the things Spruce can't get enough of.
