His tail was so badly injured that it had to be amputated. Countless veterinary appointments, medications, follow-up care, and lots of love helped this sweet boy begin to heal. Day by day, Cyrus grew stronger, healthier, and started showing us the happy dog that had been there all along.We were thrilled when Cyrus was given a second chance and went home. Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, his adopters realized they couldn't manage his ongoing medical needs and separation anxiety, and they made the difficult decision to return him to us.Now Cyrus is back where his journey started.The shelter isn't where Cyrus wants to be. Kennel life has been especially hard on him. He's happiest when he's close to his people, leaning against your leg, following you from room to room, and reminding you that you're never alone. His tail may be shorter now, but it still wiggles with excitement every time he sees someone he loves.Cyrus is still on medication while he continues to recover, and he'll need a family willing to help him through the next chapter of his healing. What he gives back in return is immeasurable—a loyal, affectionate companion with a heart full of love and an incredible will to keep going.Cyrus doesn't need someone perfect.
